Berau sets to increase 2010 coal production

East Kalimantan coal miner PT Berau Coal said it will increase 2010 coal production to 17-18 million tones next year from 14-15MT this year to tap increasing demand from overseas market.

President Director Bob Kamandanu told reporters that the increase will be spurred by increase in demand from China and India.

Bob said the company had clinched two spot contracts with the volume of 700,000 tonned from Chinese buyers, which were potentially be extended into term contracts.(godang)
