BGE trades 3 million tons of coal

Trading company PT Batubara Global Energy (BGE), a local unit of Korea-based LG International Group, said that the company has traded about three million tons of coal in the first five months of this year.

Managing Director of BGE, Chris Kim told Petromindo.com on Tuesday that the volume is a 20 percent decrease compared to the same period of last year, due to heavy rains at coal producing regions in Indonesia.

?Until May, we have traded 3 million tons,? Chris said, adding that the company is eyeing to ship 7.5 million tons of coal this year both for domestic and overseas markets.

Chris said that this year, the company would focus more on Vietnam and Thailand markets. ?Vietnam is increasing their import,? he said, without elaborating the targeted export volume to the country.
