PT BGP Indonesia, a subsidiary of Chinese survey and geophysical services firm BGP-CNPC, has successfully completed a 3D seismic acquisition project at the North West Tunu field in the aging Mahakam block, East Kalimantan, which is operated by French firm Total E&P Indonesie (TEPI).

?We have just completed shooting a 3D seismic survey covering an area of 590 sqkm in North West Tunu field on Oct. 2, 2014,? VP HR Communications, General Services & Audit of TEPI Arividya Novianto told Petromindo.com.

He said BGP commenced the mobilization of the 3D seismic acquisition at the field in August 2012.

?The first shot was conducted on April 17, 2013 and last shot on Sept. 17, 2014. The completed demobilization occured on Oct. 2 of this year,? he said.

Previously, Total E&P President for Asia Pacific Jean-Marie Guillermou said the firm needs to integrate North West Tunu 3D seismic results in order to define the locations of future wells and the target to be drilled in the area.
