BHP: Coal output at Haju mine rising

ASX-listed BHP Billiton said that coking coal output at its Haju mine in Central Kalimantan has been increasing since it started production in September of last year despite the lingering coal price downturn.
The company said in a filing with the ASX Wednesday, that coking coal output increased from 15,000 tons at the start of the production phase in September to 87,000 tons in October-December period of last year, to make a total of 102,000 tons.
The Haju mine is the first coal deposit mined at the IndoMet coal project in Central Kalimantan, which is 70 percent owned by BHP, and 25 percent owned by IDX-listed PT Adaro Energy Tbk.
