BHP Minerals looks for coal in West Kutai

Australian company BHP Minerals is conducting explorations for coal resources in West Kutai regency, East Kalimantan, Kaltim Post reported.
Company governmental relations Teddy Asmadinata said on Wednesday the company was conducting explorations on a 99,000-hectare plot of land in the area.
Under its Third Generation contract of work, the company would retain 40,000 hectares for production and relinquish the remaining area to the government. The contract allows the company to produce coal in the contract area for 30 years. (*)
