BHP to start C. Kalimantan coal production Nov

Australian resources giant BHP Billiton will start coking coal production from Central Kalimantan coal concession in November this year.

Coal production from Haju block will reach 200,000 tonnes in 2009, ramping up to 1-2 MTPA in the following years, Indra Diannanjaya, President Director of BHP?s subsidiary PT.Lahai Coal was quoted by Media Indonesia.

Indra said the company will export all of its coal production.

Haju block is part of BHP?s plan to develop its Central/East Kalimantan metallurgical coal concessions popularly known as Maruway Coal Project.(*)
