Bidders in PLN CNG marine project must submit bid bond

Companies participating in the bidding for the development of state-owned electricity company PLN?s CNG marine transportation project are requested to submit bid bond worth about US$125 million, according to a company senior official.
Head of Fuel and Gas Division at PLN, Suryadi Mardjoeki said told Petromindo.com that the winning bidder for the project has yet to be decided as the bidders are required to first submit the bid bond.
PLN earlier said that the winning bidder was expected to be unveiled in the first week of February, but Suryadi said that the deadline was extended to February 26.
The CNG marine project will include the construction and operation of a CNG marine carrier, and loading & discharging facilities. The CNG vessel will transport gas from Terang Sirasun gas field in East Java to PLN?s gas-fired power plant in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.
Suryadi said that companies from China, South Korea, Japan and the US have expressed interest to develop the project. He said that companies which participated during a briefing about the bid among others are a consortium of Mitsui & Co, Enersea, and JGC; Hyosung Corporation; PT Seamless Pipe Indonesia Jaya; Shijiazhuang ENRIG Gas Equipment Co. Ltd; CETech / Hough LNG; and PT Surya Celsinator.
