The 2x10 MW coal-fired power plant located in the port town of Bima, in West Nusa Tenggara Province, will require annual coal supply of 66,000 tons per year.
So far, only one company, PT Dwi Guna Laksana which has signed a letter of intent to supply coal to the plan, said Helmi Najamuddin, Head of Coal Division at state-owned electricity company PLN to Petromindo.com late last week.
Helmi added that the first unit of the power plant is scheduled to start operation on October 1, 2014, while the second unit on December 2. The electricity produced by the plant will be entirely used to supply the demand in Bima.
