Bina Energi to build coal-fired powers plant in E. Kalimantan

Local firm PT Bina Energi Investama (BEI) had signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) with state electricity firm PT PLN to build coal-fired power plants in West Kutai and Penajam Paser Utara (PPU) regency, Kaltim Post reported on Wednesday.

 

CEO of BEI Djoko Winarno said in Balikpapan on Tuesday that the company prepared around Rp 500 billion to finance the project.

 

West Kutai coal fired power plant would have a total capacity of 2 x 7 MW, while the capacity of the plant in PPU is 2 x 10 MW.

 

Djoko said that the power plants are expected to be completed in the end of 2009. Adding that the company will bring the feasibility study as soon as possible. (*)
