Binamitra ramps up coal production from E. Kalimantan mine

East Kalimantan coal miner PT Binamitra Sumberarta will increase this year?s production to 2 million tones, significantly higher last year?s production of 1.25 MT.

Company?s Marketing Manager M. Rais told Petromindo.Com on Thursday that 2008 production target plan would also be set at around 2 MT.

In the first seven months of this year, the company has produced 900,000 tonnes of coal, Rais said, adding that all coal production was sold to international and domestic traders such as Glencore AG, LG and PT.Indo Trade, which export coal from the mine to China, Thailand, South Korea and Taiwan.

Domestically, Binamitra has long-tem supply contract with PT Terminal Batubara Indah, a Cirebon-West Java-based coal trader.

Coal from the mine has CV range of 5,850-6,000 Kcal/kg, said Rais. (denny)
