Binamitra to produce 1.3 million tons of coal in 2010

East Kalimantan coal miner PT Binamitra Sumberarta said on Tuesday that its 2010 coal production would reach 1.2-1.3 million tons as unfavorable weather condition is hampering it from producing at installed capacity of 1.5 million tons.
Marketing manager M. Rais told petromindo.com that its coal production for January-July period reached 800,000 tons. ?Next year we will produce 1.5 million tons, but it all depends on weather condition? he said.
About 90 percent of the coal is shipped to export market through traders, he said adding that there is only one foreign customer who directly buys from Binamitra. ?The only one customer is based in Taiwan who gets 350,000 tons per year under long-term contract,? he said.
The mine, located in Sanga-Sanga, Kutai Kartanegara regency produces the so-called ?Delta Coal? which has a low ash content, low sulphur and CV range of around 5,850-5,950 Kcal/kg.(denny)
