Biodiesel and bioethanol reference prices decline in December

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has announced the December 2025 reference prices (Harga Indeks Pasar or HIP) for biodiesel and bioethanol, with both fuel types recording decreases from the previous month.
Effective December 1, the HIP for biodiesel has been set at Rp13,381 per liter, excluding transportation costs. The figure reflects a month-on-month drop from Rp14,036 per liter in November, even as the Crude Palm Oil (CPO) conversion rate used in the calculation remains unchanged at US$85 per metric ton.

The biodiesel HIP is determined under Presidential Regulation No. 132/2024 on Palm Oil Fund Management as part of the government’s Mandatory Biodiesel Program. The pricing mechanism refers to Ministerial rules governing monthly biodiesel adjustments, with transport costs applied separately.
Meanwhile, the HIP for bioethanol has also decreased, falling to Rp8,428 per liter for December, down from Rp9,013 per liter in November. The bioethanol price is set according to Ministerial Decree No. 6034K/12/MEM/2016, which regulates market pricing for bioethanol blended into fuel under the national biofuel program.
