Non-fossil energy producer Bionas Energi Indonesia on Thursday signed an MoU with the Makassar State University (UNM) to develop biofuel technology using the janthropa plant as feedstock, reports said Monday.

UNM Rector Arismunandar said that the use of biofuel would help reduce the consumption of fossil-based fuels such as petroleum fuel and help protect the environment.

He added that the main targets for the trial of the technology include fishemer vessels, motorcycles and industries in Makassar. (*)
