Black Gold Cendrawasih LLC said that it has been ready to conduct the drilling of exploration well Elang-1 in Cendrawasih Block, Papua, later this month or early next month as part of its exploration activities in the oil and gas concession.
As part of the preparations, the company said that together with upstream authority SKK Migas, they held a meeting on Tuesday with Nabire regent and all local officials in the regency. ?The exploration activities have long been overdue here. We really hope that Black Gold will manage to find a new reserve. It will significantly generate our economic growth,? said Nabire Regent Isaias Douw.
The company said in a press statement on Wednesday that they have also conducted a social campaign to inform the public about the planned drillings and benefits to the local economy. ?With the social campaign, we hope the general public will understand that the exploration by Black Gold Cendrawasih is part of the government?s program that should be supported. We hope that we can succeed in finding a new reserve. The new reserve will certainly bring a positive impact to the local economy,? said Entus Suhud, the public relations manager for SKK Migas representative in Papua and Maluku region.
Its next social campaign will be targeting fishermen, tribal prominent figures, and local people living around the drilling operation.
