BLT say S. Sumatra floating coal terminal to start ops Sept

Shipping firm PT Buana Listya Tama (BLT), a unit of Indonesia-listed shipping firm PT Berlian Laju Tanker (BLTA) will start operations of its floating offshore coal terminal and storage vessels for South Sumatra coal miner PT Baturona Adimulya in September this year.

CFO Kevin Wong told reporters on Thursday that works to convert two of its vessels to floating coal terminal and storage will take four months.

Each of the converted vessels will have capacity to store up to 150,000 tonnes of coal, he said.

Baturona will use BLT?s floating terminal service for 20 years.

Baturona is a third generation CCoW holder. The mine is located in Musi Banyuasin regency. Baturona started coal production in May 2009 with a small production volume. Baturona produces coal with CV of 5,200kcal/kg (ADB) with TM varies from 30-50%.

Baturona is a coal unit of Alas Watu Utama (AWU) Group. (giok)
