BlueScope, KS sign long-term supply agreement

PT NS BlueScope Indonesia signed on Wednesday a long-term agreement for supply of steel materials with IDX-listed steel producer PT Krakatau Steel Tbk, Kontan reported on Friday.

The paper quoted BlueScope President Director Simon Linge as saying that the company has been quite successful in producing coated steel products due to support from Krakatau, the main supplier of the required steel raw material.

BlueScope is seeking to expand production amid strong domestic demand for coated steel products, estimated at around 1.3 million tons per year, while domestic producers currently could only meet about 80 percent of the demand. (*)
