Coal mining firm PT Bakal Makmur Sejahtera (BMS) targets to produce a total of 40,000 tons of coal per month this year from its coal mines in Kalimantan, similar to last year?s production.

BMS? director Wahab Hidajat told Petromindo.Com last week that around 15,000 of the LCV coal would be produced at the company?s coal mine in Paser Penajam regency, East Kalimantan and the rest will be sourced from Batu Licin mine in South Kalimantan.

The coal from Paser will be exported to China, while the Batu Licin coal will be sold on domestic market, he said.

The firm started coal production in Batu Licin in 2001. This was followed by production in Paser Penajam in 2004. (denny)
