BMS?s Q1 nickel ore output reaches 600,000 tons

PT Bumi Makmur Selaras (BMS), a nickel mining company, produced about 600,000 tons of nickel ore in the first quarter of this year, which is a sharp increase compared to the previous year production.
?The nickel ore production in the first quarter of this year nearly doubled from about 350,000 tons recorded in the same period last year,? BMS' director Burhan Tadjudin told Petromindo.com last week.
He said that the larger part of the nickel ores produced were exported to China. ?The rest were shipped to India and East Europe,? he said.
This year, BMS expects to increase its production to 2 million tons from 1.5 million tons in 2012 The company operates nickel mines in North Konawe in Southeast Sulawesi and in East Halmahera in North Maluku.
