PT Bumi Makmur Selaras (BMS) plans to produce gold from its two concessions in Gayo Luwes, Aceh, and Kaur, Bengkulu, in 2014. The company is currently conducting exploration activities at the concessions.

?We need time to conduct the exploration. We, however, maintain target that next year, our gold concessions will start producing as we have found indication of economic viability at the concessions,? BMS Director Burhan Tadjudin told Petromindo.com Monday.

He, however, could not yet confirm the production capacity as the company has yet to complete the necessary mapping process to determine the gold production potential. He said that the mapping process was disrupted by the recent poor weather condition.

?But once the weather improves, we?ll continue it so that by end of this year the gold potential could already be determined,? he said.

BMS, set up in 2002, is a mining company which initially engaged in nickel mining with concessions in North Maluku and Southeast Sulawesi.
