State bank BNI is providing banking facilities to Pertamina Hulu Energi ONWJ Ltd. (PHE ONWJ), a subsidiary of state oil and gas company Pertamina, such as integrated cash management in the form of BNI Direct.

The cooperation agreement was signed by BNI Business Banking director Krishna Suparto and PHE ONJW GM/Executive VP Ignatius Tenny Wibowo on Wednesday, witnessed by Deputy Financial Control of BPMIGAS, Rizal Asir, and PHE finance director Hemzairil Alwi.

The choice of BNI as the operational bank had gone through a tight selection, during which BNI demonstrated cash management and reporting features that would help PHE ONWJ conduct payment to vendors, suppliers and employees.

The presence of BNI office in PHE ONWJ Ltd operational site is expected to support non-electronic banking transactions, such as petty cash, check encashment, ad-hoc payment and transactions for employees.

Krishna said the agreement proved the bank's commitment to supporting BPMIGAS programs to enhance national economy through a synergy between natural resources and banking sector, which eventually strengthen energy security.

Hemzairil said the banking facilities displayed PHE commitment to domestic products in managing PHE ONWJ fund so as to boost efficiency. (godang)
