Bogor administration plans special mining road

The Bogor Regency administration in West Java province plans to build a 20-km mining road in the Rumpin area amid widespread protests from local people as local public road linking Rumpin and Parung Panjang has been damaged by heavy trucks carrying local mining products such as sands ad small stones, beritasatu.com.

Head of the Bogor Regency administration?s civil works office, Eddy Wardani as saying that the administration is currently conducting feasibility study for the 20-km special mining road.

He said that funding for the project will come up from mining companies operating in the Rumpin area which will benefit from the special mining road as transport time will be faster, thus providing cost saving. He did not provide further details about the planned project. (*)
