The secretary of the administration, Bambang Santoso, told the daily that the calculation by a consultant would be used to calculate how much money the administration should get from the operation of state oil and gas companies Pertamina in the regency and the planned oil exploitation by ExxonMobil Oil Indonesia.
"There have been a number of consultants, including from the Institute of Technology Bandung that have submitted their proposal for cooperation in calculating crude oil output projection in Bojonegoro," bambang said.
Currently, Pertamina's operation unit III in Cepu is exploiting oil from Kawengan and Wonocolo villages in Kasiman district. Pertamina itself has made a routine output report to Bojonegoro administration.
Earlier, Bojonegoro regent said that Pertamina produced around 2,000 barrels per day of crude oil from its current operation.
And the consultant report would be used to cross check report from Pertamina and see whether the administration had got its appropriate portion or not, Bambang said.
Such a projection by an independent consultant was necessary because new oil exploitation would be conducted by ExxonMobil and Pertamina Job Devon in Mojodelik village, Ngasem district and in Campurejo village, Bojonegoro.
This new operation is expected to produce around 150,000 barrels per day of crude oil.
The Bojonegoro administration had estimated that the new oil exploitation by Exxon would contribute a total of Rp 20 billion in revenue per annum to the administration. (*)
