Bolok power plant damaged by fire

The 2x16.5 MW Bolok coal-fired power plant in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), was caught on fire Thursday evening, forcing state-owned utility firm PT PLN to adopt rotating blackouts for two weeks, Kompas.com reported.

General Manager of PLN for NTT region, Richard Safkaur said that the fire incident started at the coal crusher facility and spread to the conveyor, before firemen could put off the fire. There were no casualties from the incident. (*)
