Bomb at Newmont has limited capacity

The bomb which exploded at the representative office of copper and gold mining operator PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara (NNT) in Mataram, the provincial capital of the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) province recently was made of ammonium nitrate and kerosene, according to findings of the local police.

"Such kind of bomb usually carries a strong sound of explosion but its damaging capacity is relatively not strong. The bomb is mostly used to catch fish," the head of the West Nusa Tenggara police Jonny Yodjana said in Mataram on Saturday.

He said that none of suspects of the bombing had been arrested but the investigation on the bombing was continuing.

No reports of injuries in the bomb blast but the walled fence of the mining operator's in Mataram suffered a partial damage. (*)
