Bomb scare hits Pertamina's office in Balikpapan

State oil and gas company Pertamina abruptly stopped activities at its fuel provision and marketing office in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan on Friday after receiving a bomb threat from a mysterious caller.

The caller said the bomb had been placed in a car parked at the office and would explode at 10.20 a.m., Kaltim Post reported.

The company immediately evacuated the around 300 staff working in the office and made a lot of preparations to anticipate the explosion.

The anti-bomb police squad also rushed to the location to handle the case but the bomb threat proved fake. (*)
