Bomb threat hits Pertamina

A suspect bomb parcel was sent to the main office of state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero) in Jakarta earlier today, forcing the firm to suspend activities.

Pertamina?s spokesperson Wianda Pusponegoro explained that around 9 am, Pertamina?s main office received a bomb threat sent to the mailing room. At 10 am, a suspicious package covered with white bag was delivered to the lobby of the main office. Pertamina? security guards immediately contacted the police. At 10.30 am, a Gegana bomb squad team from the Jakarta police headquarters arrived at the scene.

The bomb squad team destroyed the suspicious parcel at 0.15 pm and the remains were brought to the police?s laboratory for further investigation, according to Wianda

She said the main office building has been declared safe by the police but a police line remains in place at the lobby, she said, adding that all 1,215 people working at the main office have resumed activities.
