Friday, October 19 2001 - 01:05 AM WIB

The Bontang legislative council in East Kalimantan ratified on Thursday six new rulings proposed by the mayoralty administration including one on general mining, the local Kaltim Post daily reported.

The paper, however did not explain what the mining ruling was.

Meanwhile, the paper said that the small FBPK faction at the council urged the administration to set up its own mining office following the recent decision by the central government in Jakarta that two oil fields called the Melahin Field and Kendidingan Field fell under the Bontang administrative territory.(*)
