Bontang legislators slam Badak NGL, Indominco

	Legislators of the Bontang mayoralty in East Kalimantan condemned oil and gas company PT Badak NGL and coal mining firm PT Indominco Mandiri for declining to provide contribution in the effort by the local administration to rent out electricity generator.
Legislator Abdul Waris Karim was quoted by the local Metro Balikpapan daily as saying that it was impossible if the two companies did not have fund to help finance administration?s program.
Karim dubbed two companies as ?arrogant? and was only interested in exploiting local natural resources without real interest to help the local people.
The paper also got similar responds from other legislators.
The Bontan mayoralty had to spend some Rp 795 million (US$1=Rp 8,800) to rent out an electricity generator to help provide power in case a blackout reappear in the area due to the overhaul activity that is taking place at the electricity firm PLN.(*)
