Bontang LNG not producing LPG this year: Pertamina

East Kalimantan LNG producer PT Badak NGL, also known as Bontang LNG plant will not produce liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) as all of the plant?s gas input would be turned into LNG, an official with state oil and gas company PT Pertamina (Persero) said on Tuesday.

Deputy Director Marketing Hanung Budya said Pertamina has received notification from upstream oil, gas authority BPMIGAS that Bontang would have no spare capacity to produce LPG this year as all of gas input would be turned into LNG to meet customers? requirement.

Pertamina bought all of PLG produced by Bontang LNG last year.

Badak NGL President Agus Haryanto said in December last year that Bontang would produce and ship 288 cargoes of LNG in 2010 if it did not produce LPG. (godang)
