Bontang needs additional fire engine

Bontang Mayor Sofyan Hasdam has instructed the administration?s public works department to obtain a sophisticated fire engine which curb fire in difficult populated areas, the local Radar Kaltim daily.
The paper said that the mayor made the statement following the recent fire incident which burnt around 103 houses in Loktuan area.
The mayor said that the damage could have been contained if the fire engine could reach the very populated area.
Meanwhile, the paper said that coal mining company PT Indominco Mandiri contributed on Friday some 1 ton of rice, 1,500 packages of instant noodle and 150 Kg of sugar to the victims of the fire incident.(*)
