Bontang sees increasing LPG production

East Kalimantan LNG producer PT Badak NGL, popularly known as Bontang LNG, has increased its LPG production from 2,700 m3 per day to 4,000 m3 per day currently.

Agus Haryanto, president director of Badak NGL, said, "The current LPG production capacity of Badak is 4,000 m3 per day, which comprises of about 33% C3 (butane) and 66% C4 (propane)."

Varieties of LPG bought and sold include mixes that are primarily propane, mixes that are primarily butane, and the more common, mixes including both propane (60%) and butane (40%)

"The sale of LPG is made by Pertamina and majority is for the domestic market," he said.

Bontang LNG has resumed LPG production since June 15, 2009 after halting it in 2005 due to scarcity of gas supply. (bernard)
