Bontang to get gas power plant

A gas power plant will soon be built in Bontang, East Kalimantan, using gas from Unocal Indonesia Company, local daily Kaltim Post reported Friday.
It will be the first gas power plant owned by a local administration in East Kalimantan, the paper quoted as saying Bontang mayor Sofyan Hasdam. He did not mention the capacity of the plant and the exact time for building it.
Sofyan said that the price of gas for the power plant would be lower than the market price.
The city administration would consider reviewing the price of electricity in the area after the power plant started operation, Sofyan said. (*)
