East Kalimantan LNG producer PT Badak NGL, or popularly known as Bontang LNG, will re-start LPG production mid-June this year.

President Director Agus Haryanto told Petromindo.Com on Monday that Bontang is expected to be able to make first shipment a month after production re-start.

He did not give detail about the volume of LPG the plant will produce, saying that Bontang will wait for instruction from upstream oil, gas authority BPMIGAS regarding the volume of shipment and destination.

A senior official of state oil and gas company Pertamina said earlier that the company will offtake all LPG production from Bontang to meet domestic consumption.

Bontang has LPG production capacity of around 1 million tonnes per year, but was forced to halt production since 2005 due to scarcity of gas supply.(godang)
