Bontang to ship 295 cargoes of LNG this year: BPMIGAS

The Bontang, East Kalimantan-based liquefied natural gas (LNG) producer PT Badak NGL will export 295 cargoes of LNG this year due to a decline in orders from the company?s Japanese buyers, Kontan reported on Friday.

Regulatory body for oil and gas exploration and production BPMIGAS?s head for LPG and LNG division, Agus Sapto Rahardjo, said in Jakarta on Thursday that this year?s exports would be lower than 303 cargoes in 2009.

Earlier, Badak NGL's general manager Nanang Untung said that LNG shipment from Bontang would likely decline to 280 cargoes this year because some of its buyers have asked for the delay in the shipment of the LNG.

The Bontang LNG plant exports LNG to Japan, Taiwan and South Korea. The buyers include Chubu Electric Power, Kansai Electric Power, Kyushu Electric Power and Nippon Steel Corporation as well as CPC Corporation of Taiwan. (*)
