Bontang to ship less cargoes in 2010

East Kalimantan LNG producer Badak NGL, also popularly known as Bontang LNG, will ship less LNG cargoes to its East Asian customers in 2010, a company official said on Thursday.

?Badak LNG will either ship 288 cargoes or 279 cargoes in 2010, depend on whether or not Badak will be assigned to produce LPG next year. If LPG will be produced then the smaller number of cargoes will apply,? President Director Agus Haryanto told Petromindo.Com.

Badak is expected to ship 303 cargoes of LNG throughout 2009.

Agus said decision whether or not LPG plant at Badak will continue production had not yet been made. ?If we decide to continue with LPG production, then Badak will produce 744,500 m3 of propane and 570,000 m3 of butane in 2010,? he said, adding that the figure was based on LPG plant?s full capacity.

Badak will produce 407,000 m3 of propane and 340,000 m3 of butane in 2009.

Agus said the figure was based on gas feed capability received from East Kalimantan gas producers which was used as basis for 2010 delivery program. (bernard)
