IDX-listed coking coal producer PT Borneo Lumbung Energi & Metal Tbk has started trial supply of 500 tons per month of coking coal to Titan Group, according to a company senior official.

?They have just started for 500 tons per month supply. Next month it would be 1,000 tons,? said Borneo Finance Director Kenneth R. Allan recently.

Allan hopes that starting next year, the supply volume will increase to 15,000 tons per month, and eventually to 30,000 tons per month.

The coking coal will be used for Titan Group?s nickel smelter, which is currently being developed in Bantaeng, South Sulawesi. The smelter is expected to start commercial operation early next year.

Allan said that Borneo has also begun coking coal supply to PT Indoferro, which also owns a nickel smelter.

He added that dozens of other companies developing nickel smelters have also been in talks with Borneo for coking coal supply.
