IDX-listed hard coking coal mining company PT Borneo Lumbung Energi & Metal Tbk said that coking coal production in January 2017 was only 120,000 tons, lower than the 150,000 tons target.

Borneo Director, Kenneth Raymond Allan told Petromindo.com on Wednesday that the lower than targeted production in January was due to bad weather condition. ?Sometimes there were rains at the mine site,? he said, adding that the company has set a target of 160,000 tons of coal output in February.

?Furthermore we are expecting to produce around 200,000 tons per month as we are targeting 2.5 million tons this year,? he said. Allan revealed that the coal are destined to Turkey and China as export market.

The company produces coking coal from of its subsidiary PT Asmin Koalindo Tuhup, which has coal concession located in the Muara Raya Regency in Central Kalimantan Province.
