Bosowa adds up PLTU Jeneponto?s capacity

PT Bosowa Corporindo, controlled by the family of Vice President Jusuf Kalla, is adding a new capacity to its PLTU Jeneponto coal fired power plant in Bangkala district, Jeneponto regency, South Sulawesi to meet the growing power demand in the province.

The firm, through its subsidiary PT Bosowa Energy, has started building two more power units each with the capacity of 125 MW to the power plant. The groundbreaking ceremony of the project was held on Thursday, according to Bisnis.com.

Bosowa cooperates with Chinese investor(s) to build the Rp 4 trillion power plant, Bosowa Corporindo?s CEO Erwin Aksa said, without providing names.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs Indroyono Soesilo, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said, local authorities and company executives.

The firm has been operating two power units each with the capacity of 125 MW at the power plant since 2012. (*)
