Bosowa starts construction of S. Sulawesi coal-fired power plant

Local firm Bosowa Energi and Chinese firm Chengda Engineering Corp. have embarked on the construction of a US$200 million coal-fired power plant with a capacity of 2x100 megawatts in Jeneponto district,
Once completed, the power plant would solve power shortage in the province, Bosowa's Chief Executive Officer Erwin Aksa said during the ceremony to mark the start of the power plant's construction on Sunday.
Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro laid the corner stone for the construction of the power plant in the presence of State Enterprises Minister Sofyan Djalil.
Built on 230 hectares of land, the power plant was expected to be completed in 30 months` time, Erwin said.
Bosawa would sell power from the power plant to state electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) for Rp 447.5 (1US= Rp 9,400) per Kwh for 30 years, he said. (*)
