BP expects FEED for train 3 to commence 2013

BP, the British energy giant that operates the Tangguh LNG project, said it expects the front end engineering and design (FEED) works at the planned train 3 at its Tangguh plant to commence next year.
BP Regional President Asia Pacific William Lin said the company is waiting for approval for the development of the train 3 having submitted its plan of further development (PoFD) to the authority several weeks ago.
?We are waiting for the plan?s approval. Once we secure the approval, we can move forward with the FEED works, which we expect to start next year. Then in the following year, FID (final investment decision) is expected to be set,? Lin said on the sidelines of the 12th Gasex conference and exhibition in Bali on Tuesday.
First gas production is targeted by the end of 2018, he added.
The train 3 development is a part of Tangguh?s Expansion Project which will include also onshore and offshore facilities, where the onshore expansion is proposed to include an additional 3.8 Mtpa LNG train, Onshore Receiving Facilities (ORF), an additional LNG jetty, LNG storage tank, condensate storage tank, applicable utilities and flares.
