BP eyes W. Papua exploration block

Super major BP Plc is eyeing to acquire an exploration block in West Papua, closely located to its Tangguh PSCs, a government official said on Wednesday.
Upstream Director at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Eddy Hermantoro told Petromindo.Com that the Company has submitted request to conduct joint study at the area.
Under the joint study system BP will have the first right to acquire the block.
BP CEO Tony Hayward said in Q4 2009 earnings call on Tuesday: ??..and subject to government's approval we added acreage in West Papua close to the Tangguh LNG facility.?(godang)
