BP holds a tender for EPCI, GPF for Tangguh project

BP Berau Ltd, a unit of oil major BP Plc announced it is inviting potential contracting companies or consortiums as potential candidates to participate in the prequalification process for Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (EPCI) and gas production facilities (GPF) for Tangguh LNG project expansion in West Papua.
The company said in a tender announcement on Monday that interested parties must be capable of performing the EPCI works for the GPF, either individually or in a consortium with others, in full compliance with the respective laws, regulations and guidelines which prevail within Indonesia.
Interested parties must have experience, skilled personnel and other resources available in a timely manner to efficiently perform the various scopes and phases of work as further explained in the pre-qualification document.
Only potential candidates who have passed this prequalification process shall be invited to participate further in the tender process for EPCI for the GPF and its associated works.
BP Berau Ltd, the operator of Tangguh LNG Plant, is currently undertaking an expansion of the existing Tangguh LNG facility, called The Tangguh Expansion Project, located in Bintuni Bay West Papua. The existing facility consists of 2 x 3.8Mtpa trains of a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant, with associated onshore infrastructure, two offshore platforms, pipelines and wells.
The Tangguh Expansion Project will include Onshore and Offshore facilities, where the Offshore expansion is proposed to include two new platforms together with 24? pipelines to provide gas to the proposed additional 3.8Mtpa LNG train. It will also include 16? pipeline spurs for further future expansion, and the shore approach section of pipeline will be installed using Horizontal Directional Drilling in order to conserve the existing mangrove areas. The total pipeline length for the Offshore scope is approximately 30 km.
This pre-qualification relates to the tender of the EPCI for the Offshore expansion works. The new platforms will be located in Bintuni Bay approximately 15 and 30 km respectively offshore of the proposed LNG train which itself is to be located adjacent to the existing plant on the Tangguh site in West Papua.
This pre-qualification exercise sets out the necessary requirements of the EPCI Contractor, in particular in respect of administrative, technical, financial, resource, HSE and experience capabilities and suitability of the interested parties.
