BP Kangean to further community development program

BP Kangean Ltd, an East Java-based unit of Anglo-American oil giant BP Plc, on Friday held a meeting with Sapeken district government officials and local villagers to explain about BP-supported community development program for the 2002-2003 period.
The program, designed by Sapeken government officials and community leaders, included activities for education, healthcare and socioeconomic development of people in Sapeken, BP Kangean said in a news release.
BP Kangean operates a gas field in Sapeken?s Pagerungan Besar village on the island of Madura off East Java.
The field supplies a significant portion of gas to both household and industrial users in East Java. (Leo)
