BP orders tug boats for Tangguh LNG project

BP Indonesia, a unit of Anglo-American energy giant BP Plc. on Tuesday held a ceremony to mark the keel laying for four escort-capable harbor tug boats, which are currently being built by state shipmaker PT.PAL Shipyard.

The US$26 million tug boats would be employed to support BP?s Tangguh LNG project in Papua, a statement issued by Indonesian upstream oil and gas executive body BPMIGAS said.

The vessels are expected to be operational March 2008. (denny)
