BP, Pertamina to get CBM blocks

UK energy giant BP plc along with state oil, gas company PT Pertamina (Persero) will be awarded CBM exploration blocks in Kalimantan and South Sumatra in February, an official with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources said as quoted by the ministry?s website.

Director General of Oil and Gas Evita Legowo was quoted by the website as saying that Pertamina will be awarded two blocks in South Sumatra and BP will be awarded a block in Kalimantan.

Evita said that the blocks should have been awarded this month, but delayed due to administrative problems. Evita said the three blocks will be awarded under the previous regulation which did not require tender. (alex)
