BP, PLN sign new agreement on gas purchasing from Tangguh Train 3

Public utility PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) (PLN) and BP Berau signed on Friday an amendment to the sales and purchasing agreement of gas from Berau block through the Tangguh LNG plant in West Papua province.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said, who witnessed the signing ceremony, said the new deal was an amendment to the gas sales and purchasing agreement (GSPA) signed by both firms on Oct.17, 2014.
The amendment aimed to secure gas supplies for PLN?s power plants on the long term, Sudirman said.
Details about the amendment were not immediately provided by either the ministry of energy and mineral resources or PLN.
Sudirman noted however the gas from Berau will supplied to PLTG Arun (184 MW), PLTGU Belawan (800 MW), two blocks of PLTGU Muara Karang (1,300 MW) and three blocks of PLTGU Tanjug Priok (2000 MW).
Under the amendment, PLN will get gas supplies from Berau from 2016 through 2033.
- Period I: from Dec. 31, 2016, 12 cargoes per year
- Period II: Jan. 1, 2017 ? Dec. 31, 2019, 20 cargoes per year
- Period III: Jan. 1, 2020 ? Dec. 31, 2033, 44 cargoes per year
?First uploading is scheduled to take place on April 17, 2016,? Sudirman said, adding that the gas supplies from Berau to PLN will generate around US$7.9 billion in revenue to the government throughout the contract period
