BP receives comdev award

BP has received an award from the Indonesian government for its outstanding achievements in community development programs in its project operating areas in West Java, Kangean and Papua, the company said in a press release Tuesday.
Minister for Fishery and Maritime Affairs Rokhmin Dahuri presented the so-called Award on Community Development Initiative to BP Indonesia through Nico Kanter, the company?s vice president for relations & support during a ceremony on Tuesday.
BP was the one and only oil and gas firm receiving the award.
BP has taken the lead over the past 10 years in sponsoring community development programs in West Java, East Java and Papua where it has oil and gas operations.
?The programs shows BP?s strong commitment to be a good neighbor to local communities and to be responsible for any impacts of its projects,? the company said. (*)
