BP resumes gas supply from ONWJ

BP Indonesia, a unit of Anglo-American energy giant BP Plc has resumed gas supply from its Offshore Northwest Java (ONWJ) Block to its customers in West Java and Jakarta including to two power plants owned by state electricity firm PLN.
Sutjahyo Pratomo, a senior official with upstream oil, gas authority BPMIGAS told Petromindo.Com on Friday that gas supply had resumed on July 22, 2008 and has now reached full stream.
BP temporary stopped gas supply from ONWJ on July 11, 2008 for two weeks on planned pipeline maintenance including to PLN?s Tanjung Priok and Muara Karang power plants in Jakarta.
According to Sucahyo, the Tanjung Priok and Muara Karang power plants consume 70-80 and 54 million cubic feet per day (MMCFD) of gas respectively. All supplies come from BP West Java.
ONWJ also supplies 65 MMCFD to state owned gas distributor PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN). (godang)
