Anglo-American oil giant BP Plc, together with its new partner Australian oil company Santos Limited had drilled Titan BP-1 exploration well in Bawean block PSC offshore East Java, but later abandoned the well for failing to discover significant hydrocarbon reserve, an industry source told Petromindo.Com Tuesday.

The source said currently another wildcat exploration well, the Calypso BP-1, is being drilled with completion expected within weeks.

BP has 55 percent working interest in Bawean PSC, while Santos, which had just farm-in the block early this year, has the remaining 45 percent. (alex)
