BP seeks spot cargoes to meet Tangguh commitment

Indonesian unit UK energy firm BP plc is seeking three to six cargoes of LNG from spot market to fulfill its supply commitment to Tangguh LNG project customers, an official with upstream oil, gas authority BPMIGAS said on Wednesday.

Deputy Chairman Budi Indianto told reporters that the spot cargoes were required to make up for Tangguh production loss due to stoppage of one of Tangguh train since early August 2009.

The first train has recently resumed operations along with second train which is expected to enter commercial operations phase early October.

A BP Migas official said that Tangguh will reach its installed capacity of 7.6MTPA in January next year. (kanti)
